Self Portraits

This term Room 9/27 have been learning to sketch a picture of our face.

We practised in our sketch books first and it was a very long process.

First we had to get the shape and size of our head right.  Then we had to work on our features like our eyes, nose, ears and mouth and other details that made us who we are.  Then we added in our hair and neck and shoulders.  It was hard work but we are very proud of our finished pictures which we coloured in using pastels.

Sometimes reading is hard for me.

When I get stuck on a hard word I try to sound it out.

It is easy for me because the bar and pie graphs are easy to understand.

Welcome to my year 2 Learning Blog. This year I am in 9 and my teacher is Mrs Koroa. I hope you enjoy my blog and leave lots of feedback.

I am learning to find halves, quarters and other fractions of sets and shapes.

"I learnt about fractions. The pizza was easy to learn. It was hard to fold the paper perfect.  It was hard to do the big fractions like 7/10ths.  Mrs Wyatt helps me do the Maths."

I am learning about rhyming words.

"I learnt to say the beginning, middle and end of the story, and rhyming words.  It is easy to sound out the letters in the words.  It is hard to read the really big words.  Mrs Wyatt helps me with my reading."
